{"id":1211,"date":"2020-05-02T21:32:28","date_gmt":"2020-05-02T20:32:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.clydebankcentralchurch.org\/?page_id=1211"},"modified":"2020-05-02T21:38:57","modified_gmt":"2020-05-02T20:38:57","slug":"a-sermon-for-every-sunday-our-king-is-in-control","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.clydebankcentralchurch.org\/?page_id=1211","title":{"rendered":"A Sermon for Every Sunday"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-very-dark-gray-color\">OUR KING IS IN CONTROL<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Bible Reading: (Psalm: 21)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In these days of the Coronavirus lockdown, many of us are still at home and are missing our worshipping together at our local Churches. This sermon in (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Psalm:21<\/span>); which I have prepared, I trust this sermon will be a good help to you all.\u00a0 The title of the sermon is \u201cOUR KING IS IN CONTROL\u201d.\u00a0 He (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">God<\/span>); is in Heaven, looking down on the world\u2019s situation; (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Psalm:14 v 2; and Psalm:102 v 19<\/span>).\u00a0 He is working out His plan and has a purpose for the People of God.\u00a0 This (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Psalm:21<\/span>); shows to us how He (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">God<\/span>) looked after His servant David and this same God will look after His People, for he has told us in His Word; \u201cI will never leave you; nor forsake you\u201d; (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Hebrews Ch:13 v 5<\/span>) and He is a God who will not fail us; (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Joshua Ch:1 v 5 \u201cI will not fail you<\/span>\u201d) \u2013 what a wonderful God we serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The requests that David made for himself as king should be true for us as believers.\u00a0 Therefore, let us \u201clive like a king\u201d.\u00a0 Many of God\u2019s people today are living their Christian life in their own strength.\u00a0 We should be relying upon the Lord and trusting in His word. The apostle Paul said these words; (\u201cI can do all things through Christ, who strengths me\u201d <span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Philippians Ch:4 v 13<\/span>).\u00a0 He also wrote these words in (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Romans Ch:8 v 17 \u201cwe are heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ<\/span>\u201d).\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God wants His people to enjoy their fellowship with Him and He wants us to know that He is still on His throne and He is in control of all things.\u00a0 John the beloved disciple wrote these words in; (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Revelation Ch:1 verse 5-6 \u201cunto him that loved us and washed us from sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God<\/span>\u201d).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Psalm:21<\/span>); which we have just read. David the Psalmist reminds us the King of Heaven (God); is in control of every situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">David divides this (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Psalm:21<\/span>) into four ways: &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1) THE KING\u2019S (GOD\u2019S) PRAISE \u2013 (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Verses 1 &amp; 13<\/span>).\u00a0 David starts the Psalm with praise (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">v 1<\/span>); and he ends the Psalm with praise (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">v 13<\/span>). (a)David is praising God for His Salvation (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">v 1<\/span>). (b) God for His Satisfaction; (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">v 2<\/span> \u201cyou have given him his heart\u2019s desire\u201d). (c) David is praising God for His Stability; (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">v 7<\/span>). David is praising God because he knows that God is on the throne in heaven, and that God answers Prayer; (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">v 2<\/span>). God also had blessed him with his goodness; (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">v 3<\/span>).\u00a0 (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Hebrews Ch:13 v 1 \u201cBy him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name<\/span>\u201d).\u00a0 We should always take time to Praise our King in every situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2) THE KING\u2019S (GOD\u2019S) PROVISION \u2013 (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Verses 1- 6<\/span>). Our King will provide for us and He will also meet our daily need.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Psalm:16 v 11<\/span> \u2013 \u201cThou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore\u201d).\u00a0 In (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">verses 1 and 6<\/span>); David is assurance of God\u2019s Presence as well as His Provision; (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Philippians Ch:4 v 19<\/span> \u201cMy God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3) THE KING\u2019S (GOD\u2019S) PROTECTION \u2013 (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Verses 7-12<\/span>). God\u2019s hand will be on our situation; (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">verses 8-9<\/span>). He is the God who will protect us from evil. David is trusting in the Lord.\u00a0\u00a0 See here; (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Genesis Ch:14 v 19<\/span> \u2013 Abraham after is battle with King of Sodom.\u00a0 The Lord brought him aid. (God will always Protect His people in times of difficulties.\u00a0 During this Coronavirus, God will Protect His People &#8211;<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Psalm:34 v 7<\/span> \u201cThe angel of the Lord surrounds those who fears Him and He delivers them\u201d). \u00a0Our King is in Control of every situation \u2013 Let us in these days, just trust Him!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4) THE KING\u2019S (GOD\u2019S) POWER \u2013 (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Verses 9 &amp; 13<\/span>).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(a) God\u2019s power is seen in He Discover His Foes; (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">v 8<\/span>).\u00a0 (b) God\u2019s power is seen in He Destroy His Foes; (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">verses 9-12<\/span>).\u00a0 (<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Ch:4 v 13<\/span> &#8211; I can do all things through Christ which strengthened Philippians me).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reflect on this <span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Hymn:649 <\/span>(Mission Praise)\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe King of love my Shepherd is\u201d,\u00a0 whose goodness faileth never;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> I nothing lack if I am His\u00a0and He is mine forever\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">(Sermon by Mr. Ronnie McCullough-Retired<br>Church Pastor (Glasgow).<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OUR KING IS IN CONTROL Bible Reading: (Psalm: 21) In these days of the Coronavirus lockdown, many of us are still at home and are missing our worshipping together at our local Churches.
